Last May, me and some friends went to Nagsasa Cove in Zambales. The experience brought me to a deeper understanding of God’s amazing creativity. Being able to escape from the city life and be in a place which can somehow prove that heaven could be a place on earth is both a privilege and a blessing. Check out this itinerary and budget that could help you decide to add this hidden paradise into your travel bucket list.

Camara Island; one of the islands we’ve visited before going to Nagsasa Cove

Day 1

1:00AM – 5:00AM – Cubao to Olongapo

5:00AM – 6:00AM – Olongapo to San Antonio, Zambales (Drop off point: Municipal Hall)

6:00AM – 6:30AM – Went to the public market to buy some stuff. This is advisable especially when you plan to stay for the night. Before we went there I have already contacted Kuya Jess as our guide. There are 5 of us in the group and each of us paid 1,000 pesos for the Nagsasa Cove Tour which already includes the island hopping before going to Nagsasa, tent for camping, and stuff for cooking.

6:30AM – 7:30AM – Rode a tricycle from San Antonio public market to Pundaquit, Zambales which will be the jump-off point for the island hopping.

7:30AM – 8:30AM – Breakfast

8:30AM – 12:00NN – Island Hopping. Went to 2 other islands before finally proceeding to Nagsasa Cove. This can be arranged with Kuya Jess depending on your preference.

12:00NN – 1:00PM – Lunch

1:00PM – 4:00PM – Beach bumming

4:00PM – 6:00PM – Trek up the mountain to witness sunset from above. Just walk to the far left of the cove if your are facing the beach. This is also the place where you can truly appreciate the beauty of Nagsasa Cove from afar. There is an entrance fee of 10 pesos.

6:00PM – 7:00PM – Prepare for dinner

7:00PM – 8:00PM – Dinner by the beach

8:00PM – 11:00PM – Bonfire. Stargazing. If you are into astrophotography, you better have your camera ready because millions of stars are visible in this part of the earth.

11:00PM – Rest

Day 2

6:30AM – Wake up

6:45AM – 8:00AM – You can trek up to the mountain again and take a lot of pictures. There will be a difference in the lighting this time because of the position of the sun. So if you want to do another photoshoot up in the mountains then you can do it again.

8:00AM – 8:30AM – Prepare for breakfast

8:30AM – 9:00AM – Breakfast

9:00AM – 10:00AM – Beach bumming again. Prepare for departure.
